BS 3692:2001 ISO metric precision hexagon bolts, screws and nuts – Specification

BS3692 gives the general dimensions and tolerances of precision hexagon bolts, screws and nuts with ISO
metric threads in diameters from 1.6mm to 68mm inclusive. Mechanical properties are given only in respect of carbon or alloy steel bolts, screws and nuts, which are not to be used for special applications, such as those requiring weldability, corrosion resistance or ability to withstand temperatures above 300ºC or below 50ºC.

Finishes

Steel precision bolts, screws and nuts are supplied with the following finishes:

Heat-treated bolts and screws. Components heat-treated after manufacture are customarily dull black, although the manufacturer may machine some of the surfaces of the larger size bolts and screws after heat treatment.

Bright finished bolts and screws. This term is used to describe bolts and screws which are finished bright on all surfaces or which have a finish on the hexagon, produced by bright drawing.

Nuts. These may be bright on all surfaces or dull black when heat-treated.

Other finishes. If the purchaser requires bolts, screws or nuts of steel (or other material) to be coated, they should state the type of coating required in their enquiry and order and it is recommended that reference be made to BS EN ISO 4042, in this respect.

If steel bolts, screws or nuts are required finished bright all over, the purchaser should state this in their enquiry and order.

INCONEL® 625

Spread the love

INCONEL® 625 is a nonmagnetic, corrosion and oxidation resistant, nickel-base alloy. It has high strength and toughness in the temperature range cryogenic to 2000°F (1093°C) which is derived largely from the solid solution effects of the refractory metals, columbium and molybdenum, in a nickel-chromium matrix. Alloy 625 has excellent fatigue strength and stress-corrosion cracking resistance to chloride ions.

Typical applications for INCONEL® 625 have included heat shields, furnace hardware, gas turbine engine ducting, combustion liners and spray bars, chemical plant hardware and special seawater applications.

Available forms are seamless pipe, welded pipe, seamless tube, welded tube, bar, wire, sheet, plate, forgings, pipe fittings and flanges.

GOST 4543 Alloyed Construciton Steel

Gost 4543 applies to alloyed construction hot-rolled and forged gauged steel with diameter or thickness up to 250 mm, and steel with a special surface finish, used in a thermally treated condition and produced in the form of bars, strips and hanks. Regarding the standards for chemical composition this Standard applies to all other types of rolled stock, ingots, and forged and punched pieces. The indicators of technological level, established by this Standard, shall be stipulated for premium and first categories of quality. The rolled stock with standardized quality indicators shall be considered as premium category of quality.

Classification

Depending on chemical composition and properties, structural steel shall be divided into categories:
quality;
high quality-A;
extra high quality-Ш

ASME B16.21 NONMETALLIC FLAT GASKETS FOR PIPE FLANGES

ASME B16.21 covers types, sizes, materials, dimensions, tolerances, and markings for nonmetallic flat gaskets. These gaskets are dimensionally suitable for use with flanges described in the referenced flange standards.

Gasket Marking

Gaskets shall be packaged with NPS, Class, gasket manufacturer’s name, material designation, thickness, and ASME B16.21 marked or tagged on the package or gasket. At the option of the manufacturer, the DN designation may be included.

ASME B16.20 METALLIC GASKETS FOR PIPE FLANGES Ring-Joint, Spiral-Wound, and Jacketed

ASME B16.20 covers materials, dimensions, tolerances, and markings for metal ring-joint gaskets, spiral wound metal gaskets,and metal-jacketed gaskets.These gaskets are dimensionally suitable for use with flanges described in reference flange standards ASME B16.5, ASMEB16.47, API Specification 6A, and ISO 10423. This Standard covers spiral-wound metal gaskets and metal jacketed gaskets for use with raised-face and flat-face flanges.

Marking

The outer surface of each gasket shall carry the manufacturer’s name or identification trademark and gasket number prefixed by the letters R, RX, or BX, followed by the gasket material identification. The gasket shall also be marked with an ASMEB16.20 designation. The marking shall be applied so as not to harmfully distort the gasket or affect the integrity of the seal.

ASTM A312 – Seamless, Welded, and Heavily Cold Worked Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipes

This specification covers seamless, straight-seam welded, and heavily cold worked welded austenitic stainless steel pipe intended for high-temperature and general corrosive service.

The pipe shall be manufactured by one of the following processes:

1) Seamless (SML) pipe shall be made by a process that does not involve welding at any stage of production.

2) Welded (WLD) pipe shall be made using an automatic welding process with no addition of filler metal during the welding process.

3) Heavily cold-worked (HCW) pipe shall be made by applying cold working of not less than 35 % reduction in thickness of both wall and weld to a welded pipe prior to the final anneal. No filler shall be used in making the weld. Prior to cold working, the weld shall be 100 % radiographically inspected.
